Mission StatementThe greater Ithaca community needs your help. The Ithaca Skate Park is sinking. Large portions of the park sit under a half-foot of water. These puddles render a majority of the skateboarding obstacles in the park useless and pose safety/health hazards. Each time it rains, a dedicated local community shares the three-hour burden of manually pushing the water off the concrete plaza. Park patrons have watched the park sink more and more each year. The Temuchin Skate Fund, a non-profit organization, is requesting donations to meet our estimated goal of $200,000. This money will make it possible to renovate the park with modern obstacle design, new drainage and amenities such as tables, benches, trash receptacles, lights and drinking fountains. Contributors of $1,000 or more will be honored on a permanent display. All donations are tax deductible. The Ithaca Skate Park Renovation Project is divided into two phases. The first phase is for an evaluation of the existing facility’s structure, a soil survey and the design of the additional obstacles. Phase II is the implementation of the design, specifically the construction of the additional obstacles, the drainage system and 3 rest areas. |
