Over 100 people from Ithaca and the surrounding aread came to
the Ithaca Skate Park on Saturday to ride the park, enter the Game
of Skate, watch the skating and learn about the effort to renovate
the park.
We would like to welcome Andrew Summers and Spider who helped
out at the event and have volunteered to help with future fundraising
efforts.
Prizes for the Game of Skate and the raffle were donated by: Independent
Trucks, Creation Skateboards, Sartori Wheels, Ipath, Es Footwear,
Home Grown Skateshop.

There is a new skateshop
in downtown Ithaca
In November, Andrew Douglas opened HomeGrown on the Commons. Hardpact,
Ithaca's local skateshop for the last several years was planning
to close and Andrew took the opportunity to open his own shop
and build upon Hardpact's contribution to skateboarding in Ithaca. Check

Skateboard Camp
Information on the 2006 summer camp is scheduled to be posted
during the week of April 24th.

One Of A Kind 3-D Skateboards
To raise money for the park we painted several one of kind "3-D"
skateboards. They will be available for sale at future fundraising
events.

Ramp Jam / Fundraiser at
Musefest 9/2/2005
With some financial help from local businesses, we built a mini-ramp
and then held a jam at Musefest, a local annual music festival.
Local Title Sponsors were The
Ithaca Bakery and Wickes.
2nd Skatepark Fundraiser, 7/2/2005 raised
over $2000
Special thanks to everyone who made a donation, bought a raffle
ticket, entered the game of skate, FBM Bike Company
and Hardpact for donating prizes, Wegmans
and Tops for donating beverages, and Alladins
for grilling burgers and kabobs.
Skate/BMX Demo at The Ithaca Festival 6/5/2005
Professional BMXers from local bike company, FBM, did a demo at Stewart
Park with local skateboarders to raise awareness within the Ithaca
community.
